About the Author
Gavamukulya Charles is a civil engineer and a recognized expert in the field of dispute resolution, construction law and construction claims.
Charles graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Makerere University, Uganda, where he gained a solid foundation in engineering principles and practices. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Science in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from Leeds Beckett University in the UK. He is also pursuing a Master of Science in Civil Engineering at Makerere University specializing in structural engineering. His research deals with seismic vulnerability assessment of existing buildings in Makerere University.
He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, an Associate member of the Institute of Construction Claims Practitioners (ICCP) and a Certified Professional Mediator. He is currently the Chairperson of the Young Members Committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators- Uganda Chapter.
Charles serves as the Executive Director of CG Engineering Consults, a reputable firm specializing in engineering design, construction law, contract management, and dispute resolution.
In addition to his role at CG Engineering Consults, Charles is also the Executive Director of Resolve360, a pioneering entity dealing withADR training, consultancy and advocacy in Uganda.
Charles has provided support in construction law, construction claims, contract management and dispute resolution proceedings to both Contractors and Engineers on numerous projects and is proficient with different standard form contracts which include FIDIC, JCT, NEC, PPDA and EAIA.
